The first alternative I found was the Epson R-D1, a camera that I, and I’m guessing most others here, had never heard of. I began my search through ebay among other places and began to hunt down my ideal camera. There are a surprisingly limited number of digital rangefinder cameras for those of us who are looking for a little more of that vintage flare in our lives. So where to begin then, well, for those of you who don’t want a Leica, or just don’t want to spend the money there are other options. This is due mostly to the fact that, like most people, I thought they would be so astronomically expensive that I shouldn’t even bother looking. When I started thinking about getting myself a rangefinder camera, as I am sure many of you have done at some point, I never even considered a Leica.
